“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the artists who, as always, have been simply exceptional, generously offering one of their songs to support this cause. Because giving those children a moment of peace, a spark in their eyes, maybe even a touch of magic, is worth all the Christmas presents in the world.“

Captain Of The Lost Waves Orchestra
First show Saturday 6th June 2026 – Presenting ‘White Metal Star’ at The Old Woollen, Farsley, Leeds.
This maiden musical voyage will feature my most beloved songs – and brand new offerings from the forthcoming album ‘White Metal Star’ – orchestrally arranged for strings, keys, brass, woodwinds and eclectic percussion…
It’ll be like nothing else, a spectacle and thunderous new adventure for the Captain
Presenting the first in a series of monthly track releases starting with ‘Circles’ on Thursday May 30th
By the end of November 7 tracks will have been released, offering fans the opportunity to buy the tracks each month on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis, touted as a deep thanks to all the people who have been so supportive. December will then offer those 7 tracks plus 3 bonus unheard tracks on a physical album release ‘Rainy Day Confessions’, again on a pay as you feel basis. A stripped back primarily acoustic album made in the midst of late English winter evenings.
Not just exclusively since the life changing accident in May 2022, but as a general reminder that my bespoke following are of a unique giving nature in that they really do take some beating in the areas of kindness and compassion.
The making of Beautiful Ugly post accident.
During the challenges of such a stark rehabilitation, music was miraculously still being created, albeit in a very slow, laboured and somewhat sedate late night fashion. Where strong painkillers/opioids became married to those rare and fleeting moments of energetic impulses that screamed out to be expressed – hence a reflective, healing, contemplative album emerged ‘Beautiful Ugly’.
The first single/lead track ‘Success In Failure’ was released in March from the 9 track album which is released officially on bespoke American label Melodic Revolution Records in September 2024. Made with just 3 players, The Captain on Voice/Bouzouki/Guitar, Damian Clark on Keys/Synths and Wendy Ross on Violin.
A crowdfunding campaign was amazingly successful with all monies paying for production, recording, design, engineering, mastering. promotion costs etc. Beautiful Ugly is available to buy as a special pre release copy online and at gigs.
